We are pleased to announce that Dr. Sarah Brackmann has joined the Office of Experiential and Engaged Learning (E2L) as the Director of Community-Based Learning effective February 12, 2024.
In this role, Sarah will scale, develop, implement, and support academic community engagement initiatives that align with the Institute’s strategic plan and advance undergraduate educational objectives of OUE and Georgia Tech. She will collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to ensure the successful integration of community engagement and student experiential learning into the curriculum, co-curricular and extracurricular offerings. Our students will have the opportunity to work in tandem with community partners and apply their knowledge in partnership to gain invaluable insights and skills. Sarah brings a wealth of experience, and we are thrilled she will be leading this important Institute initiative.
Dr. Sarah Brackmann offers over 20 years of experience directing community engagement programs at four different higher education institutions, including Georgia Tech from 2005-2008. Dr. Brackmann completed her Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Georgia, where her research focused on the impact of decreased public funding on community engagement programs. She is excited to return to the Institute and collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to integrate community engagement and experiential learning into the Georgia Tech student experience.
Please join us in welcoming Sarah to E2L, OUE, and Georgia Tech!
