NeKenjie Tarver earned a Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Michigan and a B.S. degree in Sociology from Florida A&M University. While at the University of Michigan, she directed outreach programs for students. She has also worked as an academic advisor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and as a program director at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. She is passionate about helping to create learning opportunities for students.
    
NeKenjie joined OUE as Educational Outreach Manager I. In this role, she works with both the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) and the Career Center to connect students with on-campus experiential learning opportunities. In particular, she is focused on expanding limited-income students’ access to these opportunities. In her spare time, NeKenjie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and exploring new restaurants.
