Amy D'Unger

We are pleased to announce that the Institute has promoted Dr. Amy D'Unger to Principal Academic Professional.

Amy joined OUE in February 2022 and currently serves as Interim Director and Associate Director of the Georgia Tech Honors Program. Before joining OUE, Amy served as Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies in Georgia Tech’s School of History and Sociology. 

Amy holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Duke University and earned a B.A. in Sociology and a B.A. in English from the College of William and Mary. Her recognitions include selection for the below:

  • Outstanding Faculty Advisor, Georgia Tech (2011)

Amy’s areas of scholarly interest include Inequality and Social Policy; Sociology of Race, Class, Gender, and Sexuality; Social Control and Eugenics; and Crime, Delinquency, and Violence. Amy’s publications have appeared in journals including the American Journal of Sociology, the Journal of Quantitative Criminology, and the Encyclopedia of Crime and Justice, and she has served as chair of the Division on Women and Crime of the American Society of Criminology.  She currently serves as the Vice President of the Georgia Collegiate Honors Council.
