Camille Liverpool, Career Educator in the Georgia Tech Career Center, co-presented at the Annual Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE) conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. Camille, alongside Karen McGrath, Recruiting Manager of the Mansfield Energy Corporation, presented on the Job Shadow Experience - Connections that Make an Impact.
The presentation focused on the First-Gen Shadow Program that Camille launched in 2023 in partnership with First-Generation Student Initiatives. This program matched 147 first-generation students with 55 employers and alumni representing a wide variety of industries. The program success's led Camille to present at this year's SoACE, providing other attendees with tips and advice for schools interested in launching shadow programs of their own.
In addition to Camille, a number of other Georgia Tech Career Center staff attended this year's SoACE, including James Stringfellow, Amaka Nwoko, Kyle Poe, Widalys Santiago Sosa, and Davia Woulard.
