OUE is very pleased to announce that Dr. Amy D’Unger has been appointed Interim Director of the Georgia Tech Honors Program (HP), effective July 15, 2023. In her continuing capacity as Associate Director of the HP and in her additional capacity as Interim Director, Amy continues to report to Dr. Roberta Berry (Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (AVPUE)). Later this fall, OUE will plan and then communicate next steps in appointing permanent leadership for the HP.
As Interim Director, Amy serves as a member of the OUE Leadership Team, supporting the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE) in advancing the mission of OUE and the Institute Strategic Plan (ISP). She also assumes additional strategic development duties for the HP, supporting the AVPUE in advancing the mission of OUE and the ISP. This may include, for example, contributing to curriculum development efforts or the development of Georgia Tech Living Learning Communities (LLCs). In addition, Amy serves as the leadership representative for the HP in meetings and collaborative efforts with on-campus and community partners and stakeholders.
Amy retains her responsibilities as Associate Director of the HP, including teaching two classes per year; facilitating recruitment and managing the delivery of the curriculum; serving as chief liaison to faculty and Georgia Tech academic advisors; facilitating student-faculty engagement beyond the classroom; managing data and security; coordinating HP program assessment; and collaborating with staff and students on all other aspects of HP programming and operations.
Please join us in congratulating Amy on her interim role! Amy has excelled in her contributions as Associate Director of the HP; we’re looking forward to her expanded leadership contributions in her additional role as Interim Director of the HP.
