I would like to share that Amara Anderson will be leaving her role as Marketing & Event Coordinator, Strategic Initiatives & Operations, effective February 22, 2023. Although I am very sad to see her go, I am pleased to announce that has been selected as the new Program Coordinator in the Georgia Tech Honors Program (HP).
Amara has served as the Marketing and Events Coordinator in the Office of Undergraduate Education since 2021 and previously served as an Administrative Professional II in OUE from 2020 - 2021. She has been an incredible joy to work with, and I know she will continue to do great things in the Honors Program. Amara is a graduate of Georgia Tech, having earned a BS in Literature, Media, and Communication in 2019.
In her capacity as the HP Coordinator, Amara will report to Amy D'Unger, Associate Director for the Honors Program. Amara will design and develop co-curricular programming to support the Honors Program living-learning community, as well as support all activities, programs, courses, marketing, and recruiting efforts of HP. She will also lead HP students in the day-to-day management of the community through event planning, recruitment initiatives, expense tracking, and student support.
Amy wanted to extend a personal word of thanks to the members of the search committee who worked tirelessly to help select their newest HP staff member:
- Dr. Roberta Berry, Associate Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education and Executive Director, Honors Program
- Ms. Lauren Evans, Program and Operations Manager, Honors Program
- Mr. Kyle Poe, Career Educator, Career Center and Ivan Allen College
- Dr. Andrew Salyer, Visiting Lecturer, School of Literature, Media, and Communication
Please join me in congratulating Amara. I know that she will be missed by all of us in the OUE main office, but I am glad that she's staying in the OUE family as the newest member of the Honors Program.
